I was leaving the city heading towards the burbs (Lafayette Hill and Conshohocken area for anyone who knows the area) and I get to a light next to a 1.8T Quattro. The girl driving is damn cute and she drives fast. So I let her by me to pass a truck and then I pass. Driving for a while we were doing like 60 mph. I look ahead and see some dear in the road (I've got a built in radar in my head since I had to drive from Philly to Ithaca when I went to college there. More dear than anywhere in the world I swear.) So I honk my horn at her to let the driver know to look ahead. She just kept going and SLAMMED into the dear. I slam on the breaks and then keep driving. Even after I stopped and started driving again the deer was still sliding across the ground at top speed. It must have slid about 100 yards before it hit the curb in another neighborhood to make it stop. It was so crazy looking how it just slid like that. I pull over to make sure the girl is okay and she was crying. I thought she was hurt but the only thing she had to say was "THIS IS A NEW CAR!!!!". All was fine in the end except for the front driver side quarter panel, the hood, and the headlight.

I once saw a deer get vaporized by a semi-truck on the PA Turnpike on a drive from Philadelphia to Pittsburgh. It was sick. I saw the deer bound out from the woods, go in front of the truck and a red mist came out the other side. I didn't stop to eat on the way home...

oh yeah the deer did die. http://****************.com/smile/emthdown.gif But I wasn't to worried about the deer since the girl hit it I was worried if she was okay. Also there is a deer hunt like thing (I want to say bounty, but I don't think anyone gets paid) because there are too many deer around those parts. The township and I'm sure lots of people are happier when most of them are either dead or driven out of the area.

Here in MI we get alot of deer on the highway... the semi hits are the worst ewwwww. There are so many huge blood stains on the road that last for ever. The whole vaporizing thing is sooooo nasty

yeah really, the reason I am driving a golf now, is because I nailed a deer last august, it was just standing in the middle of the road, and visibility was bad, and my headlights on my old taurus SHO SUCK, I was going about 50, hit it on the front left corner of the car and pretty much killed it on impact. I was more emotionally disturbed by the incident because I killed the deer, than from the damage to my car. Sure I was really pissed because I don't have a lot of money, and I need a car, but I was pretty depressed for quite a while replaying that night over and over and over

I was more emotionally disturbed by the incident because I killed the deer, than from the damage to my car. wow, a few weeks ago me and my roomate loaded up his MKIV jetta and we picked up 3 other friends to drive to another college for some fun. We had 5 people, 3 of which are 6'3" in the jetta and I was riding biatch in the back with no seatbelt. Right after a toll plaza there is just the biggest deer in the road, my friend was looking down at the time to change a cd. We all yelled, he threw the cd and cranked the wheel, the rear end got loose and then it slid back onto the road properly and continued to drive like nothing happened. We just about all soiled his new tan interior....I know someone had to have nailed it when it was just laying in the road. we were talking about this last night and established since we were doing 90 in the far left lane, the deer would have hit around the front passenger side wheel/ bumper area and sent the car into a spin...making his jetta into a golf and sending me tumbling about the interior and my friend who was sitting in the rear drivers side seat could have been killed by the cement embankment if the rear had hit it. scary stuff...thank god we were in the jetta not my other friend's cherokee like we had planned.

I've seen some pretty bad deer hit happen right in front of me quite a few times in my life. I saw a Pathfinder hit one deer, it was left in the middle of 476 and I had to swerve around it. Once I hit a deer. I was driving on highway 1 from SF to Half Moon Bar at night in the relatively heavy fog. So I am going 60-65mph in my (don’t laugh) Chevy Chevette and I see two white dots in the fog. A second later they materials into a deer’s head and I slam on the brakes. All four wheels locked I am sliding straight as an arrow right into that still standing still and staring at me animal. I hit it near rear legs and it kind of slowly falls over. The car stalls (it was an automatic too!) and I am sitting there shaking in the cloud of burned rubber. Well, guess what, as soon as I got out, the deer got up and run away. We were both extremely lucky. Highway 1 is a kind of narrow two-lane road with a cliff on one an ocean beneath it. If I hit it or the car slid a bit to the right it would I might not have been here to write this.

I hit a deer right up the road from there (that farming school, Saul) one night. I was the 2nd of 3 people to hit it. A guy coming the other way hit it, it staggered into my lane, I hit it (very little damage), and then a truck behind me finished the job. Some nice tag-team work if I do say so myself.
It's funny, the next day I saw people on the side of the road with picket signs protesting hunting deer. I was tempted to stop and ask them which one of them was going to pay for the damage to my car, since more deer running around would mean more accidents, but I figured I was outnumbered, so I didn't bother.

Interesting peace of trivia! Why do you think Volvos have strong A-pillars and roofs? Well, apparently they have a large bodied deer in Sweden on thin legs. So when a car hits it, it breaks deer’s legs, and then the body makes a convertible out of a car taking off drivers head in the process.

That's how I finished off my Honda. Was driving along a little two lane hwy drafting a big Dodge Dualie truck. You know the ones, big bush bars on the front and a guy in a cowboy hat driving. Anyways, he passes me, I pass him. Goes on like this for a couple of kilometers. I'm behind him for about four or five minutes and were doing about 140 Km/H when all of a sudden he SLAMS on his brakes, I'm like WTF, I slow down to about 30 Km/H about 60 ft behind him and the top HALF of this deer comes slamming into my hood. WHABAM!!! The other half of the deer shoots about 120 feet into the ditch. Holy sheet!! I look out my windshield and I'm staring right into Bambi's face.
