I'm picking up my gti tomorrow and have opted for the sport-cloth interior.
Should I have it scotchguarded / protected before I drive with it for too long?

i think they do it for you.
well, they did for mine at least...
and lemme tell ya, my seats have seen plenty a spill since and they're still holding pretty good...
