Scrap turbo question, please.

I have a question that is specific to the diesel setups. I have a 86 GTI 8V and I am considering a long term turbo project, I want to do this myself. I have access to several scrap yards. I have found a early quantum that is a turbo diesel. Will the exhaust manifolds fit? Are they interchangeable? All componets are accounted for. I can also get parts off of Volvos. Thanks for the responses. I just don't want to pull the parts and not be able to fit any of them. By the way the engine in the Quantum is long. instead of transverse. Well?

I went back to the salvage yard. The quantum was a 83-4? Turbo looked small and difficult to get out. Engine was covered in hay. It is there if anybody needs it. I ended up pulling a turbo off a 740 Volvo. Intercooler was missing. This is not something I just intend to slap on. This is going to be a long project. If anyone has any ideas I welcome them. Until later, I will keep reading.

You can't just slap it on because you need to grind down the goofy flange on it(Its not that hard, just get it flat). Then you buy a manifold from me,and an ATP downpipe and your half done.

Goofy flange? I am not sure about that. Mateing surface is flat. I would like to know more about the manifold though. Do you have a website or products to display? I would like to see one of your manifolds.
