problem with 2nd gear!
i know you all have heard of this, but i can't get into the search to look around.
basically, i can shift into 2nd no problem when my car is just sitting there or i'm coming to a stop by depressing the brake (can downshift to 2nd no prob)...
problem is, when i'm accellerating and then shift - it's damn hard to get into 2nd....i've got to really pull on the $%#@ thing.
my question is: IS THIS A BIG THING? since it's doing it only when the rpms are up, it makes me thing it's not just my shifter like i originally thought

2nd gear syncro and hub carrier.

so this is nothing i can catch now and keep the cost of repair down? don't think i want to get a new tranny right now ($$)

seriously, if someone can spell out to me what's going on and how much it should cost, it would be great. i'd like to just walk up to my mechanic and tell him my problem...if he can't figure it out, i'd like to be able to give ideas....

alright, and i'm setting up for the ultimate burn right now....but....
what do i do? replace the sync. sure. can someone walk me through what it is and what it does, etc.... (and most importantly, how much it would cost - CDN/US if possible)
seriously, i'm about as technical savy as OJ is innocent.
