If VW is like Audi, they won't even let you factory order options that are standard in Europe but not available here. They purposely debilitate our (North America) cars and then are too stupid to let us pay extra to return them back to Euro-spec. (I am referring to non-saftey, non-environmental options, of course).
It's like the twits at headquarters in Michigan have to justify their existence by making sure each and every model has a host of changes from the Euro model. I think they should all be fired and replaced by a small team who manage the legally required changes only and leave the rest of the cars alone.
