89 GLI 16v. Most of the time the car has a stumbly idle, and hesitation while driving. Sometimes it will run perfectly and it'll rev up like it should. Very infrequent though.
So far I've, replaced the plugs with Bosch Platinums, replaced the fuel and air filters. New external fuel pump. I'm going to pull the fuel pump relay tonite and look at it. What else can I look at? Could it be the in-tank fuel pump?
Please help me!!!

Re: Serious Hesitation Prob.- Mk2 GLI (Unibagell)

Ahrg
I wouldn't run Bosch Platinums in my ride.

I believe they have to reach a certain temp to self-clean... and I don't think our engines get to that temp...
correct me if im wrong... but ... yeah

Re: Serious Hesitation Prob.- Mk2 GLI (crm98)

I found a ridiculously easy fix to my similar problem recently. I cleaned the throttle body doors, isv and intake hoses with throttle body cleaner. Stabilized my idle and the car runs much better. A new fuel filter, plugs, wires, cap and rotor helped too. Good luck.
