I want to install an altenator from an S4 (120amp) and I figured, why not just convert over to a serpentine belt. Has anyone else seen this conversion before? Can it be done? http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

It can be done, but I don't think you can utilize AC. As for using a 120 amp alternator, you can get one from (I believe) a 1996 Audi A4 and that may even be 130 amp. Try to search the archives for a thread started by VWZealot in the 16v forum on the alternator. Forget about running A/C with it....there's no room. I have a 120A VR6 alternator on mine now.

So,....whats involved with this swap? What parts are needed? Part #'s? Rough cost? Anything need to be modified, or is it pretty much a direct bolt on?
