Shift lever getting stuck!

Hi folks, yesterday I noticed that the shift lever in my automatic 95 Golf gets stuck in PARK unless I press the brake pedal twice. Just holding the pedal down like I used to doesn't work anymore, it has to be pumped twice and then I can push the hold button to move the lever. What is your prognosys?

I don't have much auto trans experience, but maybe a bump will help you out....
