[Cumminspower]

i have a 01 jetta with a 2.0 liter and a five speed and when i am at low rpms in 1st and 4th gear on a rough road my car will pop out of gear. Also when i hit the throttle then let out of it the tranny will pop out of 1st and 4th gear. I dont really understand it but i think it my shift linkage needs adjusted. will someone help me out on this i have never owned a front wheel drive car and never had to worry about linkage

if the trans "pops" out of gear, then the issue is most likely internal, NOT the shifter.
In the DIY's there are write-ups on shifter adjustment. and also on the http://www.dieselgeek.com website
