Should Tire Rack otffer credit/payment plan

I have wondered this for the longest time, and finally thought to bring it up. I know that if Tire Rack offered a credit plan like Discount Tire it may help their sales grow even more. See there is some of us, ok a lot of us, who don't have $1000 or more lying around to spend on a set of rims and tires. A person may run into the following problems:
1. If it takes them a while to save the cash the wheels may have sold out or been discontinued
2. They may also grow tired of saving and go with a competitor who offers a payment plan. Of course I understand that not everyone will qualify for credit. This is just another option for the person who doesn't want to drop a grand on a purchase all at once.
This is just my opinion. I hope this post will stay clean and not get locked. I hope also that Eric as the voice for the Vortex you bring the results of the poll up to your management, or whoever would be in charge of doing something like this.

Prices will rise. TTR will have an expense bringing in a credit partner, the paperwork, the administration, 3rd party billing/account management, etc.
It will be passed on through the retail pricing.
Consider that...

That's why Credit Cards exist. Why would a company go through all the trouble and expense needed to carry paper
on tires and wheels when it's much easier to simply accept credit cards instead? If someone doesn't have a credit card
or doesn't want to bump their credit card's balance way up then they shouldn't be buying wheels and tires anyway. I
doubt the Tire Rack would want to bother having a payment plan, and the kind of people who need it are probably
a credit risk. It's been my experience that people who don't have credit cards have credit problems or a big lack
of self control.

I agree. It's not worth the hassle or the risk of setting up a payment plan program. If you want the wheels bad enough you'll either a) save up the cash; or b) get a credit card.

I am a controller for a company that offers convenience financing (net 30 days). The work load to manage this is almost overwhelming. I can only imagine the costs of a true financing program.
We would be happy to let our competitors have many of these accounts!
Borrow the money if necessary, but for gosh sakes don't put it on a credit card at 18%+ financing. This is DISCRETIONARY spending for cryin' outloud! Use cash or save for it.

Yikes, if i had to pay 18% i wouldn't think of using a credit card ! I imagine if Tire Rack had to float credit to their customers
they'd have to charge a pretty steep rate. Credit cards can be had for a low interest rate if one shops around. My two cards
are 4.9% and 6.9%...

Umm, go to the bank and take out a loan. Interest rates are stupid low right now.

i just wish my credit limit on my credit card would have enough resources to buy my bbs wheels all at once. not just a wheel and tire at a time.
