Sadly, none of our current fleet have good looking engines. The prettiest by far is my Bug.

Modern engine bays are pretty miserable, IMO. There's too much going on. All the black molded plastic parts, black vacuum hoses, and black wires intersecting and overlapping each other makes it too difficult to even tell what's going on at a quick glance.

Yeah, there's a lot of mess under some hoods. I liked the look of my old K20 Si engine bay, and the layout of both my G35 and QX50 is pretty clean and provides good access. The covered compartments for the battery and brake fluid back by the firewall are a nice touch. Wiring under the plastic engine cover isn't too bad either, though the black plastic intake manifold hiding under there looks a bit lame.

My Alfa. Don't mind the disconnected wiring harness- it's in the process of being upgraded for more quirks and features.
