Note; I didn't intend for this to be a poll and I'm not bright enough to remove it from my post. Just looking for verbal answers.
Had the 15K service done and one issue I wanted looked at was the fact that the vent that is aimed at the side window (this is the round small vent on the top of the dash aimed at the side windows) on the drivers side blows little to no air when I select Defrost on the Climatronic. Conversely, the passenger side window vent has great volume flowing in this mode. Service said this is a design flaw as the blower motor is under the passenger side vent and the distance is too great all the way to the driver's side. I didn't have time to check a GLX on the lot so I'm wondering if anyone has ever noticed theirs, or could go out to their cars and check. I've alway been very happy with my service group, but this one concerns me. I appreciate the help.

When I really need robust side defogging, I aim the driver and passenger side vents at the side windows, and close the 2 middle vents...the two fixed (round) "defogger vents" do need help under challenging conditions.

I've converted your poll to a thread.
I noticed the same thing in my GLX. But it still seems to work okay if I turn the fan up to maximum. I've never given it much thought.

I've haven't noticed it before, but I'll check it out on my car tonight.
However, regardless of air flow, how well does the defrost mode work in your car? Whenever I hit the defrost button on the Climatronic, the windows defog quite quickly and it's never a problem.

I wanted to make sure with other Climatronic owners about the Defrost function (not the rear defrost button):
When I press the Defrost button, the Climatronic automatically adjusts the vents, AND it speeds up the fan ALOT. I figured this was just part of the Climatronic programming. Does everyone else's fan speed up alot too?

Yes, fan speed increases and a/c turns on. I'm just not sure if there's a difference between driver and passenger side air flow.

One thing I discovered yesterday that defrost works alot better also if you turn off the vents (via the climatronic buttons) to the floor and from the center console. If you don't do that even when in defrost button is pushed not all the air is directed to the defrost vents - some still flows through the floor and/or center console vents. When I turned those off yesterday when the car was struggling to defrost, it was like magic - within seconds both the front and side windows cleared up...

Stargazer, it does work quite well for defogging as the a/c handles that easily. My concern is for defrosting come winter time when I need the warm/hot air. I'm interested to see your results after you've had a chance to check yours.
Its normal for the fan to go to high and "Auto" to come on when the front windshield Defrost is selected.

Ok. I just checked mine and it's exactly as you described: the passenger side definitely has a stronger air flow.
At first when I held my hand above the driver's side, it didn't seem like there was much air coming out. But I realized that it was blowing at a much sharper angle, almost horizontal.
The defrosting capability has never been a problem for me so I figure those characteristics are normal.
