This is what I want to do with my 16v. As far as the head goes, if you do get it to bolt up (with whatever you use to get the compression ratio right), you will also need to seal off the distributor hole (yea for DIS ignition!), and will need a coolant temp sensor that will thread into the the 16V head, but will output the proper info to the OBD-II ECU.
BTW, have a Bentley you could let me borrow?
We could be of mutual help to one another.

I have one! I just got it to do my first project, brake pads. Apparantly I need some special tool to press in the calipers. Anywho, just tell me what else you need and I'll scan it and send it to you via e-mail.
Here are the OBD-I inputs:
-Camshaft position sensor
-mass air flow sensor
-engine speed and regerence sensor
-knock sensor
-heated oxygen sensor
-engine coolant temperature sender
-intake air temperature sensor
-EGR temperature sensor
-vehicle speed sensor
-A/C system
-battery
-data link connector
ViolentBlue, Im just throwing around ideas. If I can hook up a 16v engine to my Jetta maybe I will.
