i heard of people swapping their stock rear wiper to a skoda one...
-what is a Skoda?
-does anyone have any pics of one installed on a golf or GTi?
any input will be appreciated, thanks!
Skoda is foriegn car. when i was in italy i think i sat in a taxi cab that was a skoda. im assuming Vw makes it because when you buy a VW part, it usually says vw, audi, seat, skoda.
hope this helps

Skoda is a Czech brand (I believe). It's one of the companies that VW owns. The Skoda rear wiper is a much smoother-looking piece than the factory one....it has a black plastic covering on it that looks really nice. It's a direct replacement for the factory piece. I have one on my car, but don't have any pictures. If you have an upper rear spoiler, you might have fitment problems though....
VAG- Volkswagen Automotive Group... now semi split into two entities as of Dec..
They are Volkswagen Classic, and VW Sport..
Classic - VW, SKODA. Bugatti and ughh. i forget the other one
Sport - Audi, Lambo, SEAT, and the other one i forget..
There was a guy names gary h. in england that was doing a few group buys on them last summer. I bought one from him for $40 but I had to sell it when I got it because it didn't work with my freedom design rear spoiler. It would have looked nice though. It rubbed when it came around the top.
You would have to know someone in europe to get one.
That's where he lives. http://www.hlaustin.co.uk/parts.htm
Here is a pic I have of a Skoda wiper. Not sure whos car this is but this pic has been just laying around on my hard drive. I really like that smooth look. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

The wiper is from Skoda Fabia. Here are some links to pictures: http://www.inet.hr/~skocijan/Fabia/photos.htmhttp://www.novinky.cz/Index/AutoRecenze/4141.html
As for Volkswagen's brand alignment, two groups, traditional and sporty, reflect the new focus:
- traditional: VW, Skoda, Bentley, Bugatti http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
- sporty: Audi, Lamborghini, Seat http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
Give us the S3 oh mighty(?) VWoA!!!

exactly what parts do I need? does it include the motor as well? did you write down the parts number?
Hmm. Does the sprayer on this wiper spray more like the front windshield ones, or does it use the existing one? I find the spray pattern of the stock one insufficient, but the front units do a very good job.
when you guys find out who to buy this from, and how much it will cost, please post the information because I am interested in this also. I was going to get in on the original GaryH GB, but i was buying other stuff at the time, and haven't seen a GB for these since.
I guess if we had a couple people, Gary might do another GB for us.
Yes this was a Gary Handa original. No one else should take the credit. He did the leg work to bring us all this unique rear wiper. Thanks goes out to him for that!
BTW: It only works for cars without a rear hatch spoiler.
Info about the Wiper Arm:
1)It will NOT fit if you have a rear wing!!
2)If you get it the end of the arm has a little nub on it -- you MUST cut the nub off
3)The ARM is the only thing replaced, pop off the cap, unbolt the stock arm and bolt this arm on
Anyother questions?

Idont off hand have the part number -- will let the snow melt off the car and look for it later
