Skyline / G35 review

Here's the first complete review I've seen of a Nissan Skyline...very thorough and properly critical in the British way. Sounds like a torquey RWD cruiser and 8/10ths sports sedan, but no worldbeater. Autoweek just reported that it's due in US showrooms in March 2002. The car is definitely worth a look, but the price better not be too much higher than $30k.

quote:

Is it really a Skyline? Lacks sporting edge and character of Skylines past, softish throttle and auto gearbox responses, some cheapo switchgear.

That sums it up I think.

not really. if you read the rest of the article, youll see its not as bad as it says there.
Re: Skyline / G35 review (Enthusiast)

I like it, but must agree to a large extent- they took out the very things which defined the Skyline, namely the round taillights and RB series I6.
Re: Skyline / G35 review (PhilHVW)

Its supposed to be compete with A4/3-Series/C-Class but how come the "alternatives" list beside put A6/5-Series/E-Class?

Because the Skyline's size puts it above the 3-Series/C-Class/A4 and nearer the likes of the A6 and E-Class. However, its price is likely lower than all of them.

I am glad they gave revised A6 5/5, it means the new found dynamics really works great.
