[02GTI-VR6]

Originally went to have exposed tips welded to the stock muffler until the muffler man made the mistake of asking me "do you really want to keep the stock muffler?". he said he did one a week ago and it sounded sick so off I was to find a decent quality, straight thru stainless muffler. I found a Vibrant muffler with squared DTM tips that met the qualifications. They charged $40 to put it on and it sounds pretty mean. At this point I figure I'll get my hp elsewhere if its not producing any(cams, CAI, got ECU already). My ass really cant tell if its any more powerful (although my mind says there might actually be a little something there). Nevermind the quality of the pics! Comments welcome.

Im glad your happy with it. I personally think it looks disgusting, but it;s your car, and you could have done much worse.
My problem with it is that it doesn't look like it belongs on the car. A mod should improve the car, not draw all the attention from it. But once again, if you like it, that's all that matters!

I have a universal Magnaflow with the round DTM tips, I just think the round tips go better on the golf thats all, If you get bigger piping you will notice a difference. I put on 2.25" from the cat, and removed the resenator. I did notice more power on the interstate and in high rpms.

Yes I could have gotten round DTM or just dual straights but for I for once dont want what everydbody else has (like the wheels, reflex silver ect).
At first I was trying to get all euro parts (you'll note H&R suspension, wheels/tires from Italy, Body kit parts from Germany. ECU tuning from Austria) so I had mixed feelings about it. But now its done and for now it stays....but disgusting? you act as if I put a N1 bullet style Hayame muffler on it such as this (does your misplaced GTI badging on your ride meet that functional/drawing attention standard. I think not).

and yes thats my other car. Probably think thats rice (until we race and the T3/T4 kicks in)

Yeah, especially since it's not an import. Wasn't Eagle part of Mopar? You know Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, etc.

Good for you that you did something "custom". http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif However, with all due respect, I'm not crazy about square exhaust tips on 'dubs... and the same goes for the polished muffler case. IMHO, rear muffs look best in black. Then again, it's your ride, so do watcha wanna do! Plus, I'm just an old dude from the Mk2 forum who's running a glasspack for my rear muff & a 3.5 " black tip!

dude, if you ask for opinions you gotta take 'em as they come. Even "disgusting". Then you do the math and work out the averages. I've got a control stick from a UH-1 helicopter for a shifter and half the folks think its the cat's jammies, the other half think its retarded and I got all that without asking for the opinions. Oh well.
As for the tips: those ARE the cat's jammies here in Germany, so if its a euro-theme you're after, stick with it. And if you never boat your car to Europe, you'll have something a little less common than all the milltek/jetex/remus/magnaflow crowd.
