my drivers window made a loud click sound when putting it all the way up before going through the carwash, now the window goes up slower and the electric motor seems to labor a bit-goes down fine-what happened? only six more months of warranty- is this a precursor to a regulator failure? will dealer fix past warranty? i bought an 01 gti as a leftover so i only have the 2 year warranty

Yeap! Sounds like broken window clip (regulator problem). They should replece it for free, since this is an issue aknowledged by VW.
