The 1.8 head would definitely be better - but at the bare minimum you would most likely need all the intake valves and a handful of gaskets.

the pistons may have hit the valves too, so check that. it's not a cheap proposition when you consider how much money when it comes time to replace stuff.

hmmm, well, I was recently quoted approx $250 for all 16 intake/exhaust valves. I bought my spare head for $275. considering the fact that you should be replacing the lifters regardless (approx $220) it's still makes more sense to get another head.( to me at least) (oh, and all prices are in Canadian $)
