huh???? its right under the intake manifold on teh left side .. black cap with big black wire connected to it ..

It's on the passenger side, and if memory serves me, it's difficult to get to. I think its kinda wedged under the manifold - also look for the tag on it...should have the electrical specs written on it - i.e. mine says a couple things followed by 120A. Hope this helps.

Ok lets see if I can help you with some trouble shooting because its probably one of the easier things to find on a car. You have a VR6 same as mine just OBD2. There is the power steering pump on the bottom, then the AC compressor (if you still have it) then the alternator. Hope this helps, and just an FYI and I dont wanna sound like an ass but if you cant find the alternator I wouldnt attempt changing it yourself, that is if thats why you needed to find it. Some people just can't play sports and some people just cant work on cars, its no bigge

Yeah, I'm guessing nobody bothered reading this the first time you posted because we figured that as soon as you got one response, they'd have the answer.
Advice: get a bentley manual. It makes everything a lot easier.
Now, to find your alternator, what everyone else said is right. One more thing just in case you really have no clue what all those strange metal things under the hood are: Find your serpentine belt (to the left of the engine) then, face the belt. The first pulley on the top, towards the front of the car, is attached to your alternator.
Last piece of advice, if you want to change it, I'm pretty sure just about anyone could figure it out. But first, get a bentley manual, ask a few more questions, and make sure you know what you're doing. It's no fun to get your car taken apart and not be able to get it back together again.
Good luck bro'
