this is basically a pointless post, and i know im gunna get ripped apart for this. But how can i make my 1.8t sound as nice as a vr6.
i heard a vr6 gti blast down the street today with aftermarket exhaust and WOW. I own a 1.8t with stock exhaust for now, and i am now very jealous.
too bad the 1.8 NEVAR loses
Yeah before I got my 1.8T, i had the same experience you did, just completely fell in love with the sound of a VR6 with an exhaust. But it'll never happen for us...
Embrace the sound of your snail ya bastid http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
oh i have embraced. wizzing and wooshing all summer with the windows down........but its just not the same......maybe if i had aftermarket exaust at least ::sighhh::
VR vs 1.8 is like the pornstar girlfriend that is an amazing bang vs the good girlfriend thats got the best bang for the buck. i can dream cant i
That video was priceless, that little golf is amazing... and probably cost less to build than the cost of a set of tires for that Porsche http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
No aftermarket exhaust will make it sound like a VR6, you'll never get rid of the buzz a 4 cyl creates and replace it with the howl you get from a VR...sorry dude

Get a GHL 3" turboback.
Closest you can get. Car is debadged on the rear, so I often get asked if it is a VR6.
The VR6 still has that little bit of "rasp" that separates the two notes though, and makes the VR6 sound much better.
And I don't know of many VR6's that backfire either.
