and I noticed that the gas tank door does not close flush with the body. The side closest to the front of the car sticks out about half an inch and the back side is recessed about the same. Is that normal?

So if it's not normal, why would it be that way? What do I do to fix it?
On totaly unrelated, why does everyone want badgless grills? I love the VW on the front of my ride.

sounds like the rubber piece that the door closes on is missing.
People get badgeless grills because they like the way they look, it's a matter of taste.

Missing or it turned. check if you have the rubber stop there if you do try turning it at intervals till your door closes flush. The badgeless just cleans it up a bit.

Naw, I just didn't think the question warranted starting a new topic.

DBman, I completely agree with you on the badgeless grill thing. Personally, I'm not in favour fo them. But, to each his own.

Now I got another unrelated question though, how big are the stock rotors front and back on my ride, 97 Jeta GT?
