Misc shots from the weekend. My old Cabby that my buddy has now is pretty much complete. He wired my shop up and I gave him the car for his work. The other cars I posted are some projects of mine and some are completed.
Working on my Dads Cabrio (Silver one). Was given to me after he passed on in January. I am going to finish it now.We were going to work on it together but he wanted it lowered with some other mods. I'll post some pics when I get it finished here in a week or so.
*Forgot to mention that within the pics I posted is my friend Brandon and two of his children. I hope you're enjoying the car because I'm enjoying the lights/fans and power.

Also wished the old man was here to see the shop finished.

Some very nice rides indeed! http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
Losing family isn't easy, especially when they're close. Hopefully the silver Cabrio will be a pleasant reminder, though. Looking forward to seeing the finished product.

My Dad was Golden. I will post pics up by the end of next week. Should have it dumped by then with new wheels. HE was getting ready to do this until he came down with Cancer. 4 months and he passed. Radiation was too much for him and when my Mom handed me the title I knew what was going down.

Beyond understandable, I know... And extremely difficult seeing anyone going through that. I experienced that with my long-time friend's dad in Denton, TX and after being "family" for so long, it was a hard year to endure. I almost think he was fortunate that it was only four months, though, not that it's any consolation, I'm sure.

Thanks...We got the idea from a Caddy Sport Truck I use to own. It had a similar pattern on the side and I liked it so much we started doing it on the hoods. The paint guy I use hates mapping it out but it looks good. He wanted to do vinyl but I demanded it be painted on so it did not look cheap.

I don't doubt they're a pain to set up but I agree... Painting 'em is the only way to go. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

Hey vesvw, the Cabrio is running like a champ. After tidying up the engine bay and adding sway bars top and bottom it is very fun to drive. Waiting on eyelids and a new 3 spoke steering wheel (Next week) and then I'm going to tackle the interior over Winter now that the shop is finished. Also put the MK4 lookin lights in with city and a euro switch. I know you loved the Cabrio when you owned it but I am keeping up maintanance and keeping her sharp and clean like you did.

Cool that is great to hear

What are you going to do with the interior. Changes to the rear seat probably?
I'm very interested in following anything changes you make.
here is a link to my current cabrio. Check it out.

I want to do the baseball interior but have yet to source it from the nimbus TT ofcourse. Either that or figure out something to recover in that type of burnt tan/orange color. Any ideas ? I mean don't get me wrong, R32 interior would be pretty choice but I don't think I'm going to find it at a good price. Man, you are doing some work. What turbo are you running in that
?

The tt interior would look great. Its a natural choice with the color of the car. Are you looking to replace the front seats? I think if you were going to pay someone to recover a set of seats in real leather you would be just as well off to go with the r32 seats. Im partial to the cloth/leather's rather than the full leathers.
Right now its just a stock 04.5 gli motor so it has the k03s turbo on it. Its running on reflex tunings distributer kit and software. Still waiting on an intercooler so I am only running about 9psi of boost. Still fun though

9 psi is better than no psi. I was wondering if you would end up with another Cabrio. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

So, Dads Cabrio came out of hiding with updates this afternoon. I think he would have been pretty stoked about its phase two level.
Lowered, sway bar and eye lids.

vesvw, it is nice to have the shop in place too. 15 years of waiting on that addition.
