Plague of these engines. Had one TSI lock up after a timing job while clutching out on the highway. Used a tow truck to bump start and snapped the gear off the transfer gear.... still ran, just started overheating shortly after. Got a replacement motor.... low oil pressure in and out... shaft seized after 5 miles of driving. lol


From my reading these are worthless and spin at twice the engine rpm.

Oil pump is on its own sperate chain in these engines. The FSI one is linked to the oil pump. Either way a plague lol

I think i am in the right forum...

You're right. Well, you still have the issue of how to drive the water pump. But it would be cool to get something like that race balance shaft you linked to.
