When I bought my 93 SLC, I could tell it had the wrong oil dipstick in it because it was too far down the intake. I changed the oil and confirmed the problem because it showed MAX with only 4 1/2 quarts. I went to the dealer for a new dipstick. The told me there is a vin split on this. My vin is wvwee4506pk005371 (11/92 mfg). They gave me a dipstik with part # 021-115-611-M.
I just changed my oil again and it shows MAX on the stick with only 5 quarts added. Do I have the right stick? Mine still seems low in the intake.

Re: Someone with a parts manual, pleas help!! (YetiMan)

Great site! Thanks Yetiman. Unfortunately I wasn't able to confirm I have the right number (there are three listed and the descriptions are in Russian).
What do you think -- the manual says that an oil/filter change should require 6.3 qts. I put in 5 and its a little high. I don't thing I left a quart of oil in it before refilling. Should I throw a half a quart in for safe measure or possibly be running a quart low and save the cat? If the stick is wrong, I have been running low for 5000 miles. Think I did any damage?
Thanks.

The parts manual does have that part number. It also has 021-115-607 in parenthesis. Try calling the stealer and check the price, or whatever your process is.
Hope this helps a little.

Re: Someone with a parts manual, pleas help!! (G60 Kid)

I think it is going to be the 021 115 607 one, i have a copy of the full EKTA on CD and was looking at it quick before i left the house but don't have it with me.
Maybe someone can post what their # is on a 93' SLC... i tried stopping by my neighbors house to look at the number on his but he wasn't home...
I will post it when i find out what his is.

I would also check the plastic dipstick "funnel" that the dipstick locates in to see of it is incorrectly mounted or damaged.

Re: Someone with a parts manual, pleas help!! (YetiMan)

Just talked to my neighbor... his stick is the 021-115-611m one also. His car is a 93' and he found the same thing. The first time he did the oil he massively overfilled it by following the spec in the book and the car ran terrible (as if it had way too much oil) so he immediately drained it off till the stick was right on. He has put five quarts in ever since, and the dealer did too (filled it sccording to the stick) last week.
Don't know what else to tell you, and Bentley specs it the same as the manual.
