I ran through the numbers and well, the DE GTI ain't going to happen for me. However, I am not leaving the VW family. I put down an order today for a 2002 GTI 1.8T Black/Black with 5 Speed and Cold Weather package. And here is the best part...
NO BLOODY SUNROOF!!!
A GTI w/o a sunroof is incredibly hard to score but thankfully my car is alot more affordable now. All it will need IMHO is a dieselgeek short shift kit and a shine racing suspension. Then all will be right with the world.
Just wanted to let you know I didn't *completely* waste your time. God speed and mad props to Jamie for getting VW to even offer a GTI w/o a Sunroof.
