Alright guys well I have a serious buyer coming to look at my Gti tomorrow, and its time I start to look for my mk3...I was driving through my town today and saw a car for sale that is exactly what i am looking for:
1997 Jetta GLX VR6
Windsor Blue
5 Speed
118k miles
The guy selling is 40 years old
I talked with him on the phone and asked if the timing chain had been replaced, it hadnt...However, he just changed the water pump a couple thousand ago
Body and Paint are in good condition, probably an 8/10
His asking price is $6500, does this sound right? Too high? Too low?
Help me out here, its been a while since I bought a Mk3

Re: Sound like a good deal? (Sully_VR)

sounds decent, about what i got mine for, but i had half the miles.
I dont know the going price for dubs in over the hills and far away though. you may be using a foreign currency.

It seems a bit pricy for me. I have seen many GLX's going for less with a lot less miles.

miles are a lil high for that price... try and get like 4800, that's a bit more reasonable http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

Thanks for the input guys
....yea I was thinkin about offering him less, he told me he isnt going to move that far from 6500, but We'll see what happens when the negotiations begin...Any more advice is welcomed, and thanks again for the nice comments instead of the flame session i wouldve seen back in the mk4 forum http://****************.com/smile/emthdown.gif
