I’ve just been watching a kids school program on South America before going to work and noticed what looked like a Mk2 Golf in Brazil that must have been redesigned to look more modern and looked great! It was obviously a Mk2 but had the look of a Mk3 or 4.
Anyone got any pictures? I presume it’s a factory build as they still make old VWs there.
I know its a kids program but better than "this Morning"!!!

Re: south american Golfs (Gary Cundliffe)

I don't exactly know what you saw but believe it was a Volkswagen GOL which is a vehicle that is about the size of a Polo or less.
It is the entry level car in the South American market for more info try this website http://www.volkswagen.com.br then go to automoveis and select Gol or try for english understanding at http://www.autoindex.org and go to Volkswagen then to Volkswagen Brazil under the South American heading.
By the way VW Brazil never built the Mk2 Golf and has only started to build the Golf from Mk IV onwards in Brazil.
