Nothing like a little friendly GTG...

Good time, people and what amazing weather for December!! I hope everyone had a nice trip home. TORQUE! and I raced up Rt 24 and I made it home in record time

Here are a couple of pics for everyone:
Ahhhhhhh, diesels as far as the eye can see. What a beautiful sight!

DeeBee's somewhat rare 99.5 2dr TDI built in the Fatherland

the leather seat in John Roland's '02 wagon...look at that side bolstering!! Now that's a seat! The shape of this seat looks a bit more supportive than the cloth version. All wagons are made in the Fatherland at this time. (There were two silver diesel wagons each with less than 200 miles on them...one with cloth, one with leather)

the storage areas in the new wagon are mutli-level and very clever in design.

Approach to the Mt. Hope Bridge going towards Newport. It was very foggy late morning.

Buzzard's Bay Brewery offering farm fresh Buzzards ( People, I am enjoying that growler as I type this and it is wonderful!
)

A state of the art brewery producing modest quantities of award-winning ales and lagers for New England.

PeterV's ride: Perhaps the most highly-tuned TDI motor on the East coast!

self-explanatory

I always have a great time at these events. I hope everyone enjoyed the Diesel Quiz...a few of you will need to sharpen your skills for our next event in February.
May everyone have a happy and safe holiday season!

Tom

Definitely an excellent time. I just wish the fog had burned off quicker so y'all could have enjoyed the spectacular view of the bay and Newport from the Mt Hope Bridge.

Um, Yes. Dieseldorf drives fast. I am always amazed at how solid the car is at high speed. The 205s and 16" rims really help the car feel glued to the road.
Great time and glad to see you all.

Torque!, I hear ya! I always find myself cruising along at 85mph on Rt128 passing everyone in sight. Its not intentional. The car just seems to want to go faster and faster and is so comfortable doing so. I really have to keep an eye on the speedo in that car 'cause you have no sensation of how fast you are travelling. Never had another car quite so intoxicating when it comes to cruising fast.
These cars love to run, especially up those long hills.
