Space under steering wheel other use

I have decided that the space under the steering wheel is better put to use by storing 6-8 CD's (which I change often) (depending on the thickness of the cases) instead of the manual (which I don't look at much and goes into the glovebox now), since I am torqued that they made the console a inch too shallow.

That space under the steering wheel is to provide room for the steering
wheel to tilt & telescope...
