spark plug ejection..

Alright.. so i was driving down the road on thanksgiving, and all a sudden that familiar motorcycle noise started.. check engine light started blinking, and the car was struggling..
so i pull over and pop the hood, and like i expected the spark plug had been shot out of the head, still attached to the wire.. i had no choice but to drive it home (less than 1.5 miles) so i hung the spark plug out of the head and drove it back, tried putting it back in when i got home, but it wouldnt go in , saw that the threads on the spark plug were a LITTLE messed up so i went out and got another spark plug..
tried putting that in and it yeilded me no results.. it wouldnt screw in so now im guessing that the head is screwed up with the threads.. what are my options?

hahaha. Wolf deletes the 'bleed it at the caliper' post but this one stands


You should be able to retap that spark plug hole, actually its more of 'chasing' the threads. If you dont know what you are doing then find some one who does, it should not require a new head though. good luck dude

helicoil.. i have heard mixed opinions on these.. and are there two different types? the spring lookin ones and then the inserts? i cant find two different kinds

anyone have a DIY or some sort of guide on this stuff.. i will be getting help with it, i just want to see whats involved and what kind of pricetag im looking at

go get a tap for the threads . and then dip it in some grease ( this get all the shavings on the the tap and not in the motor) run the tap threw ( like posted above its more of a chase) then see if it fits not , if need be a little thread lock and you will be fine , helicoils arw a last ditch effort.. try everything else first, tap , grease and thread lock will run less then 15$

put a 2.0 in it and be done

because youre installing new threads, that are made of steel into the head, not so much stronger than the casting but stronger than aluminum threads

I was totally against them... faced with a customer that couldn't afford to replace his head I decided to give them a shot... I was VERY impressed with the kit I got... it was $80 but that's a lot cheaper then a head replacement.
