Spark plug wires

I was looking for plug wires on vwaftermarket.com and saw that they had plug wires with and without pins. What's the difference and how do I know what I need?

Never heard of "pins".
Now I'm curious.

Re: Spark plug wires (Bob Roberts)

I found out that's only for the older models, with the A3 chassis. And ABA engines, I think. Either way, it doesn't apply to my 1999.5 Golf IV.

Pins refers to the type of contact you have in the distributor cap. Take off a wire and look into the cap tower....see a brass pin sticking up in the middle? If so, you need wire set with "pins". Other type distributor caps are just brass cylinders into which you plug a spring contact on the wire set.
