I put mine in 500 miles ago, and the car feels llike it did with my plugs that had 35,000 miles on it. I would stay away from the Bosch Platinum+4. I am going back to the plugs I had last time, BERU.
Re: Spark Plugs NGK or Bosch Platinum +4 (BadAssCorrado)
ok, so I'm new and old at the same time
And I think I got the message on the type I will choose. Thanks a mil. Now for another question, how do I close this poll? " Jane how do stop this crazy thing "
Re: Spark Plugs NGK or Bosch Platinum +4 (VictorRyan6)
I'm sure this has been beaten to death, but somehow I didn't find much helpful in the archives...
Can someone summarize how or point me to where I can learn about changing the plugs in a VR6?
I'm no newbie to working on cars, but those plug wires sure disappear down a dark, ominous hole. There's gotta be some tricks to making this job easier.
Re: Spark Plugs NGK or Bosch Platinum +4 (VictorRyan6)
I heard New Dimensions have the NGK plugs and selling them for $9.00 a piece since your a member of the Vortex. You might want to check with them, ask for Tony http://www.newdimensions.com http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
While NGK might make some good plugs, I have a hard time believing that they are stock equipment, since the owners manual tell me to use Bosch plugs and gives me the parts number for them.

Go to the dealer and ask, theyll tell you theyre factory.
NGK BKR5EKU to be exact or
NGK BKR5EKU-P for platinum
If you want decent deal, try Dieselgeek: http://www.dieselgeek.com/corrado.htm
$5 bucks for reg, $12 for platinum.
Re: Spark Plugs NGK or Bosch Platinum +4 (BlauSlc92)
The dealer can say what they want, but I would trust the owners manual before I would trust the dealer. The only way that I would beleive that the NGK's are the true factory plug is if the Bosch's are no longer made, and have recently become the plug of choice. Why would VW use a plug that isn't german? Most of the things on our cars come from German companies as it is. It seems that most things under the hood have the Bosch name on them as well.

Don't be a tool.
The Bentley shows the OEM plugs are the NGK. The 2.0 comes with Bosch(my Golf has the +4's and I love em, not in my Passat though) plugs.
Have used the beru's, the factory ngk's, aftermarket ngk's, bosch +4s and now regular bosch. they are all the same and all lasted for 30k miles each. no difference that i could tell in idle or performance or anything at all. they each did feel pretty good right after swapping out the old set. don't spend more than 5 bucks a plug and change them more often.

My car came with the NGK's from the factory . When I replaced them last year I put in the BOSCH FR8 LDC. My friend just changed his plugs in his Golf CL VR6 . He also had NGK's. The plugs he got from the dealer where NGK's that came in a VW box. The plugs had both Ngk and VW symbols on them
Re: Spark Plugs NGK or Bosch Platinum +4 (Bob Roberts)
WeLL Bob, then why does the owners manual say to use Bosch plugs? I think you may be the moron. Things may have changed for the newer models, but, the Corrado manual say Bosch. There really is no argument over that.
