Hey, does anyone know why a spedometer would read variably between 10-20mph faster than I'm really going? It's quite off.
I know I need to fix or replace it, but I don't know how. Can this be fixed, or am I going to need to get a new gauge cluster?

on the speedo cable there is a gear that mates up to the tranny in order to get the roadspeed. There are TWO different ones, a white one and a red one...you've got the wrong one so just take the cable off and see what one you need. I have the same problem in mine, but I like it...makes my RV motor feel faster

haha. yeah, i've never personally taken out the dash all by myself and really don't feel like it quite yet either. maybe if it were my car i'd be more motivated.
but yeah, i probably wouldn't figure it out.

Better then mine.. I thought i was going 103-105, but i was doing 120+. And i wonder why i was catching traffic, and my engine with the 4k tranny was reving so high... Time to slow down.
