How to earn a sponsorship? I think everyone knows that I'm going to do a full repaint and different interior.
I definitely want a sponsorship after all that work!
So How?

Getting sponsored is a PITA. Its not really worth it in the end unless the company sponsors you 100%.

Being 'sponsored' usually isn't a free-ride like some think it is. In most cases, you'll pay for parts at cost while labor is free. Rarely is somewhere just going to give you stuff- thats what they have their own project cars for.
Also the sponsor company may want full access to your car as part of the agreement....not just for you to sport some stickers.
Think about it- do you think a nice car rolling around with some stickers will really bring a place enough business to justify the cost of paying for a full blown show-quality car?
I'm not being negative here, or trying to shoot you down- some guys here have gotten sponsorships from various tuners & done really well....and we're all very happy for them.
But I'm going to make somewhat of a presumptuous statement here..... If you build your car for the purpose of trying to attain sponsorship, you'll probably never get one
Now in terms of your project.... what color you going for, or is it hush-hush?

It is not worth it just bite the bullet and do it your self!
Re: ... (PerkyVw)

It was worth it for me. Be forewarned though the company sometimes need the car for a week here a weekend there. So if you don't have a second car or can bum rides it can be very difficult.
Re: Sponsorship (2001Bora)

usually entails you to go to LOTS of shows to, you guessed it, show your car. the thing is that they have a stake in your car because maybe a lot of the stuff on the car is not even owned by you. from the sounds of it, you're looking for a "clean" double yellow jetta, well, with sponsorships, you're not going to get that. also, with performance mods and this paint job, there isn't going to be "one" shop that does all of this most of the time. might have to sport a couple huge banners/stickers. i don't know what tell you, bottom line is, if you want a sick ass car the way you want it done, you have to shell out the money yourself. cause with a sponsorship or what not, they have a say in what they may or may not want to do to your car.
Re: Sponsorship (cadiburns)

Just want a place to take care of my cars paint/exterior condition!
Otherwise, I'm fine with paying my ride!

You have to be a saleman than. Tell them if you paint my car at a discounted price or free than I'll go x many shows, I'll have it in this and that magazine. I'll put stickers and a number here. You can use the car in any of your prono ads. Basically you have to make it worth it for them to consider doing it, which in itself has a price.
