Sporadic Check Engine Light

Hoping someone can help me. I've got a 96 Jetta Gl with 160K km on it. A week or so ago the check engine light came on for a few seconds (as soon as I took my foot off the gas it went out) as I was criusing at about 120 kph. Since the first time it has happened a few more times, and again the light never stays on for more than a second, & it only happens when I am driving at highway speeds. The car seems to be running well & the fuel consumption is normal

Does anyone have any idea what might be causing the light to come on ?
Thanks
Geoff

Re: Sporadic Check Engine Light (Geoff)

Mine did the same thing last week....it was my vacuum sensor....it was loose....alot of different things will cause it to come one though....sounds like the same problem as mine....did it feel like it sputtered a little bit?
