Ssangyong, now no longer under Daewoo, has just launched the Chairman sedan in Australia with a fully loaded 3.2 model coming in at just under A$57,000. I saw one at a "recreational vehicle" exhibition (namely SUVs but Ssangyong used it as the stage to parade its luxo-barge to prospective buyers!) and thought it looked pretty neat. A bargain for the price? I'd be tempted to think so!
Only thing though- a lack of brand recognition in Australia, unless Ssangyong can pull a rabbit out of the hat and conduct a really good marketing campaign. Perhaps even trying to position itself as a sort of "Korean Lexus". But given the progress made, nothing would be beyond the Koreans it seems...
