Spring Drive, Midwest GTG - March 30th. All Midwest Dubbers welcome

From the post earlier this year asking for feelers on a Midwest GTG this spring, the plans are finally set in motion.
We will be cruising the Missouri wine country on Saturday, March 30th. A roughly 120 mile drive along the river on windy roads, and returning by interstate. Should be a good drive for the start of the season. Plenty of stops for photos, some lunch and wine tasting for those who enjoy it.
For all those interested check out the details:

We get together off and on. If you feel like getting out and meeting some of us, just shoot an email a day or two in advance. And check out the club in my sig. I am sure most of us would love to get out for a nice drive. That is, when the weather stays consistent

Well... I'm going to TRY to make it (if I don't have to work... darn project). I'll probably end up driving my Miata (the GTI is my OTM) though, but I hope I'm still welcome.
Directions to the meeting spot 64/40 -> 94 and then what?

assuming you are coming from towards St. Louis, make a left on 94(oppsite direction from st. charles) then you'll go a little past Busch Wildlife and it'll be on the right hand side...can't miss it

Has anyone done the "Golden Fairy" that take's you to IL.
Well if I rember correctly you go out HYW. 70 West to ummmm man it's been a while some were between Mid Rivers Mall Dr. and Zumbell it's back there past the BMX bike park. ANyway you can jump on a boat that will take you over to a island and then you cruiz the island to the other side and jump back on a boat that will take you to "The Great River Road" which is a great ride, you can make a big loop insted of going way out to ole "Herman" old foaks town hahahaha and then have to drive back. If you do the IL. loop you can start out in West county and get on the river road head east towards the Alton bridge hop on 367 and hit 270 and go back home. I just had to post this I never took my GTi on that trip BUT me and my R6 loved it!

YEAH, I've done the Golden Eagle ferry. It is a good day trip. Only problem is that
ferry doesn't carry many cars and takes forever. I would suggest such a drive,
but we went to Alton and the River Road last time we had a GTG. The drive out to Hermann is a long one, but for our first drive since November, I am sure people won't mind getting out for the day. That drive is really spectacular.
Next time your in town, look us up...

Sounds cool.
I will plan on coming down. Maybe I can talk a few other CVO cars into the drive.

Actually there are dozens. Mt. Pleasant is just the biggest and most known. We are in no way confined to just Mt. Pleasant. I'll take a search of the web and see what other wineries are on the route.
Looking forward to the 30th...

Doug,
Just let us know when you are in town, and we'll see what is going on. With the spring just around the corner, we'll be out much more.
