Im doing a swap into a MK2. I have a 2 litre crossflow to put in. I got a deal and it came with the rear axle beam with disc's and front suspension, subframe, rad and fans, cluster , dash , complete wiring harness, and engine and tranny. its all out of a 95 GTI.
My MK2 is a bare shell so im going to swap as much as i can as possible.
1. can i swap in the rear beam with disc's from the A3?
2. can i use the subframe with the engine?
3. can i use the MK3 suspension on a MK2? I have MK3 coil-overs from my old car.
4.can i use the A3 front hubs with A3 axles and control arms?

Re: Starting Engine swap. Got a couple of ?'s Please help (fast8vvw)

for your front suspension you can use the A3 subframe completely(with control arms), only, one down fall- it make the engine sit to high, so you need to cut part of the hood or turn the throttle body. You can also use the rear beam. I used A3 suspension doing my swap and havent had any problems. Good luck getting the 95 radiator to fit tho, its too tall. Also the front support with the front mount has to be from an A2 the A3 one wont fit.
