If there's nothing there and it's void of a harness, aftermarket the unit. Unless you can find a single DIN factory VW deck, I can't see why not to install aftermarket. And as far as dealer installation is concerned, that's rubbish. You'd be certain to go aftermarket if you have to deal with them.
