Sticking dump valve (Mannyo1)

Mannyo1, did you get a chance to look into the hesitation in first gear which we talked about before.
I was talking to the dealer today about getting the seat cover replaces and thought I'd mention it to him, he told me that the reason it happens is that the ASR is on, and that it wouldn't happen with it turned off. He said that I wouldn't be able to drive the car with a dump valve sticking.

Re: Sticking dump valve (GAFF)

Hesitation due to ASR?...I havent heard that one before...never felt it in my car anyway. What i have had is the frayed seatcover , mine was replaced under warranty a few months ago , still no sign of fraying coming back , i wonder if they have strengthened the stitching?

Gaff,
When at the nurburgring a couple of weeks ago we hooked up a VAG-COM diag tool and this revealed no error codes on the ECU, so I still dont know whats causing the problem. The RS was serviced last week as well and this did not reveal any problem, perhaps I need to try some Shell Optimax fuel and see what happens.

Maybe the ESP? That also gives you a "bumpy" ride.

Manny
Isn't it the small valve that gives the pressure figures to the computer? It is right off the BOV. It was replaced on my car and since then the car performes much smoother.
