Re: STP oil filter model number (GTi--VR6)

I don't think they make one. You want to stick with either Hengst or Mann filters, available at the stealership or from Potterman. Other companies' oil filters cannot handle the high pressure of VW oil pumps.

STP 7732
Duestche 440
They are the same filters you buy from VW and pay $14 for.
Except you pay $6.99 for the STP or Duestche box brand.
Even comes with the 2 O-rings.

Re: STP oil filter model number (KinetikSLC)

The Deutsch filter that I bought at Autozone last fall that was a Hengst filter placed in a different box has since been replaced by a STP filter now sourced from Korea. I went to 4 different AutoZones and could not find any of the 'old ' Deutsch Hengst filters anywhere. I thought I had found a good local source for Hengst, but I will now have to drive to the Detroit area and buy a few the next time at the VW parts place. IMO these are the best filters.
