^ The shark has been jumped. That motorcycle is like a caricature of a stereotype of an epitome.
I get more steam punk from that than rat rod
I'm not sure if this fits, but I want to post it here anyway.

More fitting?:

Why? Why not actually learn something for a change instead of being proud to be a moron? I just don't get that sort of pride.
If you wanna teach someone don't start by calling them a moron. It's not a thing to learn it's a name of a style. If you disagree I have no problem with that, the cars stay the same.

Edit

Hot rod style,

Rat rod style,

THAT is awesome!
I know Wikipedia is always right but I'd say 90% of "terditional hot rods" fall under rat rods.

More dead horse beating

I rather read Wikipedia's page as to what a rat rod is vs read everyone's opinion going back and forth on what is or that isn't a rat road. Opinions are like butt holes, everyone has them.

moving on, supprised this hasn't graced this thread yet

this is awesome, but also i want to see it being driven and pics with someone driving it...from inside it. It looks like a remote controlled vehicle!
Some are hot, some are ratty.
Some have fenders, some are bobbed.

This one's different:

I like the blue paint. I know the paint is green but since it doesn't have fenders I call it blue. Nice blue color.

This was at simply clean 7 last week, not sure if it qualifies as a rat/hot rod but definitely cool and unique.

The guy drives it almost laying on his back, and the pedal box is up near the front axle!

Ask and ye shall receive!

EDIT: beaten by seconds, but I'll leave mine up since I embedded the vid. :D

 That's why I put in the pic of the "all beef veggieburgers". :p

You can call it whatever you like, but that doesn't make it so. As stated, the term 'rat rod' isn't very old, but fenderless builds go back to the '40s with GIs returning from the war and racing at Bonneville. Later they were refined, painted and cleaned-up to the point of being über-expensive to build at home. The whole "rat rod" thing is simply harkening back to a time of cheap builds with found parts.
