I'm an idiot and ASSumed that 9.4's and 10.1's had the same size bleeder nipples. So when I was at Track auto I ordered 7mmx1.0 solo bleeders cause thats what the 9.4 caliper we looked at had. But NOOOOO girling 10.1s have a 10MMx1.0

and i find this out AFTER my special order arrives!
Who have thunk it. I woulda thought VW woulda kept the same bleeder design for all eternity.
So now I have...

I'm looking to sell these
paid $30 anyone wanna gimmie $25 shipped? They'll fit 9.4s
Not to make this sound like a classified post, I just wanna tell y'all, for refrence....
9.4" and rear disc/drum bleeder= M7x1.0
Girling 10.1"s= M10x1.0

According to the germanautoparts web site, they're calipers come with "Caliper, front, Kelsey-Hayes type. Stronger 10mm bleeder valve."
I have heard from my dealer that they have problems where they sometimes break the 7mm ones, and then have to replace the whole caliper. I would spring for 10mm ones if i had a choice.

Its not even a matter of springing them. Its not like you can change your bleeder valve size without boring and taping your caliper.
I need the 10X1.0s

Hey, if you wanna hold on to them for a couple of weeks i will come by and get them from you. I am from northern VA too, but i am in Norfolk right now at school...probably go home in a couple of weeks, could make this an easy side trip.

How exactly does the solo-bleed work? is like a ball valve type thing, so that you can just sit and pump the brakes, and on the upwards travel of the pedal it keeps it from sucking fluid/air back into the system?

I dont know why, its not like its all that hard or anythign, btu I HATE bleeding brakelines.
