Suggestion for Upsolute...

Since many of us have experienced surging with various "new" versions of the Up software, why doesnt Up develop a stand-alone, or auxillary wastegate control to eliminate surging (Maybe something to replace the N75). Reducing output helps, but we paid for power, so by reducing it, you are also reducing the value of the chip. If we bought the chip that produces 210/260, we dont want to down grade to a lesser, unspecified output to solve a problem that shouldnt be there to begin with. Dont get me wrong- I am a big fan of Upsolute, I just think this needs to be settled once and for all.

The only models affected are the 2002 Jetta/Golf, and then only 4 or 5 guys running version 5. The only difference in Version 6 is in the boost peak, overall Hp will remain the same. You have several options, Go to version 6, it is the only one we will use from now on anyway. Adjust your N75 , or replace it. Several have adjusted it, one has broken his, replaced it and is running just fine. Whereas he was surging before, Before some other tuners tell you that proper R&D was not done, let me explain that when a file is done and we see 2 or 3 cars running well with it, it is considered releaseable. If one car develops some problem we feel it's limited to that car, if I see two unrelated cars experiencing the same problem, we act and a new file version is produced to correct it. We did this, and produced version 6. Jim told a client that 6 was not as strond as 5, big mistake, Jim did not clarify his statement, because several have chipped and demanded ver 5. The rep obliged, that will not happen again. We try to produce a file that works on 100% of the cars out there. If a few are off, we will correct for the lowest common denominator. Several have posted that they have switched and it eliminated the problem, and the file does not feel any weaker. That said, Even with Version 6 chances are your car will be better if you had a proper adjustment on N75.

Re: Suggestion for Upsolute... (Valois)

I have replaced my N75. So you are saying that the output #'s on V6 are just as good as V5?
Re: Suggestion for Upsolute... (SlvrBllt)

Yes.
Re: Suggestion for Upsolute... (Valois)

So if I am surging with v5 should I just go ahead and upgrade to v6 even though I have had it only a week ?

If you are surging- Yes. Version 6 will still dyno ~180whp just like V5
Re: Suggestion for Upsolute... (SlvrBllt)

I will be in orlando saturday if anyone wants Version 6. I would not recomend messing with the N75, if you are surging update to version 6.

Thanks, I will see what Lanny's schedule is like
FYI, here is a number of pulls I did in 3rd for block 118 & 119. It is a continuous log with 3rd gear pulls highlighted and charted.
The first pull was scary as I floored it at just above 1100rpm and almost nothing happened

Anyway, hope this helps you UP guys by adding to your database. Let me know if you need any other blocks before I upgrade
