I dont know about on all of your sunroofs, but mine is not actually tinted, it has these tiny little dots...so its kinda like tint, but its hard to see through. personally, I downright hate this. Can they be sanded off? do another other sunroofs fit? Id like to put some REAL tint on it.

DON'T SAND! You won't be able to get the scratches out of the glass.
You'll need to remove the glass and soak in a heavy concentrated solvent to remove the 'painted' tint.

have you done this? has anyone? is there any way to replace it? if so what fits?

Yeah, I have done this but not a on a Jetta / GTi sunroof.
I had that same design on my Cutlass sunroof and was able to remove every dot with a razorblade and some solvent.
You *could* find a clear plane of glass from somewhere... but that's gonig to be difficult.
