Hi guys!
While im pretending to study here in school, I am planning out my spring break. Therefore I need to know how long it would take for shocks and springs to be installed. I don't know how many people are from NYC here but i'm planning to get my work done at RAPtuning out in Hempstead. Does anybody know their prices (for parts and labor). Any places that you guys can recommend?
Besides the suspension, im goin down to central Jersey to get my chip done by John Achille. So when i head back to school after spring break, i should be a significantly happier driver!

Sorry about all these questions...Ive had my GTI for less than a month- it's pretty exciting stuff...whewee!

Re: Suspension Installation time (GT Eye)

You shouldn't spend more than $200 labor to install suspension at a shop. With air tools, they can do it in a matter of minutes for each corner.
Sorry that I can't recommend a shop tho', since I'm not in your area.
BTW... what kind of GTI (year, engine, etc) are you putting this stuff on?

Re: Suspension Installation time (chuck_simpson)

Thanks for the info
I just called RAPtuning and they quoted me 900 beans
I guess that sounds about right since the parts come to about 700 beans, but then again there are some people on this board that have gotten their suspension work for lower prices.
Im putting all of this on a 2002 1.8T
Thank again for helping me out

So now i need to get the Bilstein/H&R combo....where?
i just created an account at http://www.parts4vws.com

Re: Suspension Installation time (GT Eye)

I got my nuespeed anti-sway system from new deminsions 446.00 shipped, bilsteins and eibachs with strut tower brace 659.00 shox.com.
FYI:
if you do the install yourself get the strut specialty tool from vw. My install took about 18 hrs cause we didnt have power tools or the vw tool.

Re: Suspension Installation time (EBG 1.8T)

Thanks for all your replies guys!
This board has been most helpful.
I'm getting my suspension done by Tyrolkid and i ordered the Bilstein/H&R sport shocks and springs combo...so hopefully by next week I'll be carvin the curb!

One more question, guys (and gals)...Does an effective suspension make the car "feel" fast while accelerating?
Thanks
peace
