In a move that is probably a surprise to exactly nobody, Volkswagen and Taos Ski Valley have partnered to make the automaker the official vehicle partner of the ski resort.

Volkswagen says they picked the name because the city is a small one that offers big things. And by that, they mean outdoor adventures, arts, design, culture, and cuisine. Taos the place also happens to offer Taos Ski Valley, a premier ski and snowboard destination.

The deal will make Volkswagen shuttle vehicles on offer to guests of Taos Air and guests of The Blake at Taos Ski Valley (an 80-room ski-in-out lodge). We're not sure if they'll be given Taos vehicles as shuttles, though, since ski gear and passengers probably take up a lot of space. In any case, expect to see plenty of Taos crossovers in Taos as part of the agreement, and VW says it will have on-site vehicle displays and Volkswagen experiences year-round.

"Collaborating with an organization that is as socially and environmentally responsible as Taos Ski Valley is perfectly aligned with our Drive Bigger goals of committing ourselves to being a purpose-driven company. We’re embracing our promise to help make the world a better place and want to work with companies who share this spirit,” said VWoA sales and marketing EVP Duncan Movassaghi.

More details of the Taos will be revealed closer to vehicle launch next summer, and we're hoping that this is the last time we'll have to type out the word Taos today.
