Seems like the TDIs all have 'roofs. I'd rather save the cash and gain the headroom. Do they tend to come with sunroofs & Monsoon?
Also, are the Jetta Wagons impossible to find in TDI? I know the Golfs are that way too, that's why I'm looking at the Jetta, there's lots of 'em at the dealer.

that much more head room without the sunroof? ...im 6'3 and have zero problems with headroom.

A friend of mine is 6'7" and has plenty of head room in my Jetta, and I have a sunroof. He looks a little like a grasshopper driving it though

Bob,
The TDI wagons are rare but not impossible to find. Just get on the www and check your local dealer stock. It is very hard to impossible to find a 5 speed with leather or luxury packages. We've been on the list for one since Nov., but it's been shipped and due in 3 weeks. Oh, yeah , I'm 6'1" and get plenty of head room with the sunroof.

My TDI wagon came with one. I thought I would miss the head room, but I don't at all. I just drive with the interior panel open all the time and it "feels" like there is more headroom than in my wife's Jetta sedan with no sunroof. It is also great for increased ventilation. Glad I have it.

I got my Golf TDI ordered with Lux and Cold Weather package (man those heated seats are going to be nice)
I have a co-worker with w Jetta GLS TDI who now wished he gotten the Lux package.

There is more headroom because the glass panel by itself is thinner than the normal roof with headliner and insulation!
Enjoy the sunroof. It more than compensates in added value later when you trade it in and the only cars without it are GL's not GLS models with a lower level of trim and plain steel wheels cuz the wheels and roof are part of a package.
