Re: Techtonic exhaust (xxshaihuludxx)

I have a TT exhaust on my Golf, and the difference between that and stock exhaust as far as noise is quite a bit. You'll still be able to carry on a conversation in the car, but it will be extra loud when you accelerate. As far as performance, I'd almost guarantee 8hp, more depending on what else you've got done to the car, and what, if anything, you plan on doing to the rest of the exhaust. I'd say it was worth the money. If you want performance and quietness, buy JETEX. They are a little more expensive, but worth it if you have sensitive ear drums.

I have the TT aluminum with Dynomax muffler on my Jetta. I have sound clips, but the mic seems to have picked up a lot of road/wind noise even with the windows open.

It is definitely loud, but not so loud while cruising that my wife and son complain.
Re: Techtonic exhaust (A3Jetta)

do you have any pictures of the exhaust, or what the dynomax muffler look like and can you order it with that muffler on it? im really liking the sound, but i want it to look good as well as sound goood not just a little pipe hanging out of the back of the car if you know what i mean. thanks

The aluminum system comes with the Dynomax muffler. That is the system I have. You can also upgrade to the stainless Dynomax Super Turbo or Borla.

whoa, dont you get a lot more noise with that long of a pipe between the muffler and end of the pipe? thats real long.

Re: Techtonic exhaust (igneousGOlF)

Standard length on the Jettas. Listen to the sounds from inside the car. Link posted above.
Re: Techtonic exhaust (A3Jetta)

i had the TT with dynomax on my jetta, i loved it. the only thing i didnt like was how it hung far back, casue when you drive behind it, you can see the whole muffler, it was kinda nasty looking
Re: Techtonic exhaust (xxshaihuludxx)

I have the TT system with Dynomax muffler. I love the sound of it but it sound so much better when your standing outside the car as it goes down the street. As for performance, I noticed a big difference with the engines ability to rev better from 4k to red line.
Re: Techtonic exhaust (xxshaihuludxx)

i got a tt exausht, love it. its the best thing. i had one on my gti, and it was awesome too. i love the one on my jetta, its loud, but not overly loud, and loud enought that you hear it around the corner. its nice. go for it.

Re: Techtonic exhaust (blk94jetta)

I got a TT exhaust with the Borla rear muffler as a b'day present just over a month ago. Its been very nice - throttle response has improved and between 4k and 6k the car seems to pull a little better (will verify at track later in the year). At idle there is a slight burble to the exhaust under load there is a nice growl.
Re: Techtonic exhaust (xxshaihuludxx)

I had TT on my Gti that I had it sounds like a low rumble at idle sorta quit and then gets lounder and deeper when you hit the gas. Over all this is a great exhaust and one I would like to purchase again.
Good luck on you purchase let me know what you get http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

Re: Techtonic exhaust (dubnvento)

This may be a silly question but, i am also looking into getting the TT exhaust. What would be the difference between getting the UltraFlo, Dynomax or the Borla mufflers? I would like to get a little sound change (other then the sound of a hole in the stock exhaust I have now) but I don't want it to be over powering. I haven't been able to find any real reason why I should go with the Borla over the other 2.

Re: Techtonic exhaust (Dark Angel)

The Dynomax muffler is a chambered muffler, while the ultraflo is straight through. I believe that the Borla is the same way. But each will make power in different spots. I seen dyno charts where the straight through muffler makes more power. Me personally would go for the Ultraflo. The only reason I have the Dynomax muffler is that I got the system for $50.
Re: Techtonic exhaust (A3Jetta)

I got a question... is there any need to buy a high flow cat along with the TT exhaust?

Re: Techtonic exhaust (Krass95GLS)

If your cat is in good condition (not clogged) buying a high flow cat on a mk3 will maybe give you 1 to 2 hp. Our cats flow very nicely straight from the factory.

Re: Techtonic exhaust (gtibunny8v)

About your sig gtibunny.... You say 1/4 in 17 seconds at 71 mph.
A stock jetta can do 0-60 in 9 secs, how are you only able to get 11 more mph in 8 more seconds? I've just ordered the same parts as you save the P-Flow, and am a little concerned

EDIT
Well hrmm... Played a little Gran Turismo, and the time seems decent, I was just thrown off by the 71 mph... Must be all down low

Re: Techtonic exhaust (Krass95GLS)

The 2.0 has a lot of low end power compared to its top end. With gutted airbox and an Autotech Q-chip, I ran a 16.8 at 81 mph. I am hoping for some improvement this year with the addition of my Techtonics exhaust.
Re: Techtonic exhaust (A3Jetta)

I really like my magnaflow system, its really well made and a bargin for the preformance. On my 2.0 it idles with a deep tone and as the revs rise so does its roar. The tubing is, as from what I've seen higher quality than that of the tt exhausts, and they look much better, as far the borla system I don't much about it. But the exhaust pictured above with a tell tale midas looking clamp turns me off, but if it flows it flys.
