Anyone have any details regarding the integrated telephone features of the multi-function display? Originally, VWoA had the following to say:
All communication systems, from radio to navigation to telephone and
television module, access aerials. But for aesthetic and technical reasons,
these aerials are installed out of view in the Touareg. The FM-radio aerials
are located in the side windows, the GSM aerial for the telephone in the
front right mud wing, and the GPS aerial (navigation) in the front left mud
wing. Touaregs with the TV module also have a aerial for it in the tailgate.
The passive aerials for the radio-wave central locking are integrated in the
bumpers.
I've searched websource, the 2004 Touareg Sourcebook and technician SSP course info but haven't turned up anything. The NAV Double-DIN unit has a harness on the back labeled "Tele" -- but I can't figure out anything more.
1. Do the NA Touareg's have a GSM aerial installed?
2. Is there a Tele module that needs to be added somehow?
3. Will phone options simply be limited to OnStar (SOP 34/03)? Where is the microphone for OnStar I wonder?
4. Will the nicely integrated Nokia 5/6/7xxx series handset option pictured in many of the early media photos be available?
Thanks all for any info you might have. I know it's early still but I bet someone has an answer...

Re: Tele/Telephone Information (therzog)

BTW, the handset option I am referring to is this one. Useful, too.. since the 6310i works well here in the US and is sold by US Carriers.
